Sproutbuilder.com is a company that created the Sprout. At Sconnie Tours we use Sprouts all the time. They are implantable widgets that you can customize. You can put them in Facebook, any webpage, or most social networks.
We’ve figured out ways to use this to help groups organize, pay for and even request trips.
See if you can find all the ways that we use Sprouts. They are a great company and we’re huge fans
Have a great week!

Buses…magnificent creatures. A sight I dreaded at the age of seven makes me excited today.
If I see a school bus after 7pm, I know either a field trip went late, or someone is having an amazing time. The symbol of “time to go and learn” has become the symbol for “ridiculous” when bus companies thought it would be a great idea to rent out their otherwise idle vehicle after school. For modest prices, you can have a private at-your-disposal-driver. Some people think limos are classy…they are. Buses are damn sexy.
Mini-coaches may seem like they would be used for weddings, but for smaller groups, they can fit well. Then there is the coach bus. Yeah. 56 beautiful seats and a bathroom. What more does a man need? DVD player? You got it. Charming driver. Prolly. It is by far the most comfortable to travel with the headrests and all, but it sometimes lacks the charm/nostalgia of a common bright yellow school bus pulling up.
The Facts:
School bus:
Capacity: 40 adults comfortably, 50 adults uncomfortably, 70 children
Cost: Most Affordable
Max Distance: 4 hours
Pro: Inexpensive, open air above seats, nostalgia, great for local trips
Con: Bumpy, not-baller-iffic, the faux leather seats/duct tape holding them together
Minibus: Capacity: 20 adults comfortably, 26-26 adults uncomfortably
Cost: More Expensive but do-able
Max Distance: 8 hours
Pro: More comfortable, DVD player, bathroom, smoother ride
Con: Not big enough to really rock, less shock&awe when you pull up to an event than a coach bus
Coach bus:
Capacity: 45 adults comfortably, 56 adults uncomfortably
Cost: Most expensive overall, comparable if cost is split per head
Max Distance: 8 hours
Pro: Most impressive, most capacity, best value with the people for smooth/comfortable/crazy longer ride
Con: Need a large group, parking isn’t always available/free at destinations
The verdict: It’s all about fitting your group to a vehicle. We’re happy to help.

Based on the number of veils, explicit straws, whistles and necklaces, one look around any local watering hole will tell you it’s wedding season. And more power to them. Why not enjoy some great times with some of your best friends.
We see bachelor and bachlorette parties wanting to order buses for their events. Based on the amount consumed, not being behind the wheel seems like a great idea. It is also a really simple way to get everyone together and let people have a great time between events.
Here are a few tips if you are lucky enough to organize a bachelor/bachelorette party:
1) Set the itinerary early
Can’t stress this enough. If you want to have a variety of events, make sure you communicate that to the group and have a means to deliver.
2) Set expectation of behavior and cost
Nothing can strain a friendship like money. Making sure that everyone is clear on the projected cost of the entire event (from beginning to end) will let people budget and plan for maximum fun.
3) It should be about the bride/groom
I know you are having a great time, but remember, this is really to celebrate the bride/groom and the next step in their life
4) Other people are trying to have a good time too
Easy to forget with 15 friends at a bar, but really, we’re trying to have fun over here…no need to be a jerk about it
5) Let Sconnie Tours help you get it together.
We can help:
- Reserving the vehicle
- Organizing online payment
- Help setting the itinerary
- Provide a private guest list to those invited
- Let you see the payments come in online
- Let you have the fun, while we do the work of the party
Just something to think about. And mazel tov on the wedding, I hope you and your spouse to be are very happy together.

RSS is a powerful drug…once you get hooked, you find all kinds of new ways to use it. I guess it would be more appropriate to describe that as an ingredient than a drug, but I digress.
RSS allows you to have information passively sent to you from a source. Watch this video to understand a bit more.
RSS in Plain English
We at Sconnie Tours love RSS, and love how it is being adopted commercially in new and interesting applications. We use it in a few different ways which we will get into later, but thought you should start to learn a bit more about it.
So start your addiction by subscribing to this blog in your favorite RSS Reader (ours is Google Reader)
Have a great weekend (which in Sconnie Tours time begins Thursday night)!

Hey,
Welp, we got ourselves a Blog. Our crack web-espert Joey hooked us up with it so we can better communicate with you guys, give you some great new ideas on roadtrips, and also, let you understand what we are working on and what’s in the hopper for Sconnie Tours.
We’re a proud company, small and agile, and ready to party. We’re going for posting as soon as we have something worth sharing…should be pretty often.
Thanks for supporting Sconnie Tours. It is the help of friends that got us started, and it is sharing the good word about what we can do that has really grown our business.
Until later,
Eli & Jake
